Clark Regional Medical Center Opens New Outpatient Wound Care and Hyperbaric Therapy Center

Clark Regional Medical Center recently joined forces with Wound Care Advantage (WCA) to open a brand new outpatient wound care and hyperbaric center. The center will feature a multi-disciplinary team of physicians to offer innovative and advanced wound care to the patients of Clark and its surrounding communities.

The new facility will consist of four treatment rooms to treat patients with chronic wounds related with:

  • Diabetes

  • Venous insufficiency

  • Osteomyelitis

  • Immobility and delayed effects from radiation

  • Among others

In addition, the center will also have two state of the art hyperbaric chambers to help wounds heal quicker.

“During hyperbaric oxygen therapy a person is given 100 percent oxygen in a pressurized environment,” said Dr. Crystal Kincaid, one of the medical directors of the Center for Wound Care. “When you combine pressure and oxygen, the amount of oxygen in the blood stream increases which speeds up the healing process.”

The wound care staff and physicians work together with the patient’s primary care physician to develop and put together evidenced-based treatment plans focused on healing rates and patient satisfaction.

“The specialized care provided by an outpatient wound care center supports the ongoing care provided by a patient’s primary care physician,” said Mike Comer, CEO of WCA. “We build strong partnerships across the continuum of care to ensure the best possible outcome.”
